I wonder how many people actually inquired about these cars? Considering how easy the financing seems to be, I’m more surprised I don’t see a lot of base model Jetta’s running around.

The base model Jettas is what gets them in the door, then they get upsold to a mid trim level Jetta.
I t’s sales 101.

Counter: They come in on a Tiguan or something, they owe $15,000 on their 2016 Nissan Altima, they have a 430 score and a Credit Acceptance repo, the Jetta S is the last resort, and the customer gets picky despite the scenario. Oh, and they only have $1,000 down at most. No deal occurs.
Welcome to my job.

A few years back my brother picked up a previous model year Mk6 Jetta with the 1.4t and a 5 speed. I think he got it for 14k. It’s honestly a lot of car for that money.

I sold GM, I’m familiar with that customer. There’s nothing like sitting with a customer and a sales manager, an hour after the store has closed, just to find out that CapOne won’t even finance them, LOL!
Luckily, it was after I left, but the dealership now uses some lender that takes even lower scores than Capitol One. I was able to leave with my soul somewhat intact thankfully.

I remember when I bought my FoST way back when. One of the pieces of paper slid in front of me was along the lines of “If we can not secure a loan, you agree to 21% financing provided by the dealer”. I asked the guy how often that happened, and he said over 50% of the finance apps that went through their dealership ended up that way.
If a Jetta could fit my son’s goalie bag, I’d consider one.

Every dealer I have visited seems like they only want to sell Tiguans

You might be thinking of Exeter. Exeter is often the last resort.
I know some of the volume dealers in the low income areas have second chance lenders or something like that, and those are probably some companies I’ve never heard of.

They don’t have a sunglasses holder, and there wasn’t Habanero for the 2020 model year. If there was a leftover Habanero SEL Premium 4Motion, I might’ve considered that.

Due to some money problems and the anchor that was my wife’s MDX, that was me. Desperate to get something reliable and desperate to fix some of the money problems.
The monthly on her Niro is about $400. She wanted the payment to be lower, but it wasn’t happening with how much we owed on that heap. She got it when I told her that we wouldn't have shit breaking every couple months and then have to scramble for money to fix the issues.

Is there a sunglasses holder in the Alltrack that I don’t know about?

Yikes.
For the low low rate of 24.9% this car can be yours!!

I think of the Alltrack cubby as a sunglasses holder. I keep the phone cord in the center console, and I close the Alltrack lid with the sunglasses inside.

Congratulations on getting something new, though, and a good monthly rate in general. That’s something that’s always an accomplishment. It’s one thing (attempting) to trade in your perfectly fine Kia Forte for a Telluride, but in a need scenario, it’s different.
